India's spinner Axar Patel requested to wear a glove on one hand while bowling in the first match of the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, due the extreme cold conditions in Mohali. The umpire declined the request, leaving left-arm spinner Patel to continue without the added protection. Despite the cold conditions, Patel performed well, taking two wickets and conceding 23 runs in four overs.
