Revealed: Why is Uruguay allowed to have four stars on their jersy despite winning only two World Cups?

Uruguay’s four stars reflect a unique football legacy recognised by FIFA. Alongside their 1930 and 1950 World Cup triumphs, the stars honour Olympic football gold medals won in 1924 and 1928, when the Olympics represented the highest level of international competition. Far from controversy, the emblem symbolises Uruguay’s pioneering role in world football and its enduring historical greatness.
